 Description: President Obama has charged the Department of Labor to prepare new FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) regulations… proposed regulations that institutions of higher education are watching closely as they consider multiple over-arching implications in the near future.

Although the specific changes are still uncertain, what does appear to be certain is that changes in FLSA will likely be arriving soon! The President has put significant proposals forth that could affect your institution, including a recently announced proposal to expand eligibility for overtime pay.

The proposed FLSA changes will require campuses across the country to audit their FLSA exemption classifications and update accordingly to ensure they stay in compliance with new regulations.

You will take away:

*Answers to your current FLSA questions regarding overtime exemption, salary limits and new enforcement efforts by the Depart of Labor. The information provided will position you with a complete understanding of what the new proposed overtime exemption regulations are and when the proposed regulations are anticipated to go into effect.

Tips and Hints - GoToMeeting Introduction (12/17/15)

 Description: As part of a campus-wide telepresence initiative, GoToMeeting is available for faculty and staff at Grinnell College. GoToMeeting is telepresence software that provides HD video, desktop sharing, dial in conference bridge services, and session recording of the presentation, for up to six video attendees and up to 25 audio participants from both on and off campus.

This hands on training session will allow attendees to interact with the GoToMeeting software including cameras and audio. To allow everyone the chance to practice using the software without having difficulty hearing, sign-up is limited to 6 people.

The first 45 minutes will be a demonstration of GoToMeeting software. The last part of the session will be hands on and participants are free to leave according to their schedule.

 Description: Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
