 Description: GrinnellShare is Grinnell College’s new intranet built using SharePoint 2013. This 2-hour workshop is a hands-on introduction to GrinnellShare. In part 1, you will learn about the many features of GrinnellShare such as libraries, lists, announcements, calendars, discussion boards, and more. You will also learn how to create and modify views to better work with and organize documents and data.

This workshop is open to anyone and is a prerequisite to Intro to GrinnellShare, part 2. Both part 1 and part 2 of Intro to GrinnellShare must be taken before taking Managing GrinnellShare Sites.

Ensure that everyone can access, use, and benefit from your Microsoft Office documents by implementing these accessibility best practices from David Rivers. This course first explains what accessibility is, why it's important, and what makes a file difficult to access. Then David provides some document standards, guidelines, and tips before launching into specifics in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. See how to use the Accessibility Checker to locate accessibility issues quickly in each application, and find out how to make elements such as text, images, tables, and objects accessible to all. The course also covers using text-to-speech functionality, adding alt text to describe graphics and images, and manipulating object order for screen readers.

Learn how to store and share files using OneDrive, Microsoft's free cloud storage service. In this course, Jess Stratton shows you everything you can do with OneDrive, from managing and recovering files to viewing your photos in elegant galleries and slideshows. After explaining how to access and use the service, Jess demonstrates uploading, organizing, copying and deleting files; sharing files using links and the Public folder; finding the files and info you need; creating documents with Office Online; and using OneDrive on a mobile device.
